Chell Stephen is a writer, director and editor based out of Los Angeles and Brooklyn. Originally from Toronto, Chell was raised on healthy doses of music videos, The X Files, teen dance movies and The Simpsons. She creates all kinda content as part of bi-coastal media collective thinkfeel.tv - production, smiling and button-making are some of her favorite things. Her first narrative short CRYSTAL premiered at SXSW in 2014 and the follow up Shauna is a Liar, also a dark comedy, will be released in 2017. Chell began her directing career in the music video world and those roots helped solidify her visual style which tends to emphasize rhythm, movement and killer cuts. Chell is a Sundance Fellow who was selected to participate in the 2017 New Voices Episodic Short Form Lab with her series, Kidnapping Brihanna. She has directed spots for JanSport, L'Oreal Paris, Guess, Univision and Barefoot Wine.
